O Grupo de Pesquisa em Bioenergia (GBio), criado em 2015, \u00e9 formado pelo grupo de pesquisadores que anteriormente compunham o CENBIO, o Centro Nacional de Refer\u00eancia em Biomassa.<\/p>\n
O Centro Nacional de Refer\u00eancia em Biomassa foi criado em 1996, atrav\u00e9s de conv\u00eanio entre o Minist\u00e9rio de Ci\u00eancia e Tecnologia, o Instituto de Energia e Ambiente da USP, a Secretaria de Energia do Estado de Sao Paulo e a organiza\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o governamental Biomass Users Network. Mais tarde, quando o conv\u00eanio entre as institui\u00e7oes expirou, o CENBIO passou a ser um grupo de pesquisa em bioenergia localizado na Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo, no Instituto de Energia e Ambiente, cuja equipe atualmente comp\u00f5e o GBIO, ap\u00f3s a reestrutura\u00e7\u00e3o administrativa do IEE.
