Possui gradua\u00e7\u00e3o em Geologia (2001), mestrado (2002-2004) e doutorado (2004-2008) em Geoci\u00eancias (Geoqu\u00edmica e Geotect\u00f4nica) pelo IGc-USP, com est\u00e1gio de doutorado-sandu\u00edche junto \u00e0 Kingston University London (2007). Obteve a Livre-Doc\u00eancia na \u00e1rea de Geotecnologias pelo IGc-USP em 2015. Foi docente do Departamento de Geologia Sedimentar e Ambiental do Instituto de Geoci\u00eancias da Universidade de S\u00e3o Paulo (IGc-USP) de out\/2009 a fev\/2014. \u00c9 coordenador do grupo de Pesquisa CNPq em Geomorfometria, Sensoriamento Remoto e An\u00e1lises Espaciais. Atua Editor-Chefe do Brazilian Journal of Geology (Sociedade Brasileira de Geologia) e como Editor Associado do peri\u00f3dico Computers &amp; Geosciences. Foi vice-chair da International Society for Geomorphometry (ISG) entre 2015 e 2021. Foi Diretor Financeiro da Sociedade Brasileira de Geologia (SBG &#8211; sede nacional, 2014-2019) e membro da diretoria do N\u00facleo S\u00e3o Paulo da SBG (2011-2013). \u00c9 associado \u00e0 Sociedade Brasileira de Geologia (SBG), ao Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) e \u00e0 Sociedade de Especialistas Latino-americanos em Sensoriamento Remoto (Selper). Tem experi\u00eancia na \u00e1rea de Geoci\u00eancias, com \u00eanfase em Geoprocessamento, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: An\u00e1lise Digital de Terreno (geomorfometria), Sistemas de Informa\u00e7\u00f5es Geogr\u00e1ficas (SIG), software livre, sensoriamento remoto e sistemas c\u00e1rsticos.
